Golem:
Limit of 1 golem per summoner. Casting a new golem removes the previous one. In concept, the golem is similar in functionality to the ranger pet, except that it is more varied. You can have physical / elemental golems, melee / ranged / spell-casting / support golems... You also have spells that affects the golem, much like the ranger class.
Also, golems are usually more expensive in terms of maintenance and energy costs than followers (except perhaps for a very weak golem and a very strong follower).
Followers:
The number of followers is only limited by the energy maintenance cost, thus the largest army possible is determined by the primary attribute and the cost of the cheapest follower (in terms of maintenance) and its cost in terms of energy cost (which is usually higher than the maintenance cost). As an exemple, for a summon that costs 15 energy and 10 maintenance, if your character has 30 energy total, you could cast 2 of them and have 10 energy left after it refills, because even though you can afford the maintenance cost of the third one, you can't afford the initial energy cost (unless you use a skill to reduce energy cost). With higher control, if you reduce the maintenance cost by 50%, you could get 4 and have 10 energy left after it refills.

Intresting I would like to play a class like this^^.
But I would rather have an Elemental Fairy/Pixie than a Golem^^.
The Folower is intresting but it would be complicated to me^^.
I wish if you would organize your layout like mine^^.
Sadly, you should change the name War Summoner sounds tacky, Why not just summoner?
Have you ever thought of posting this in the "Nebojat's CC listing"?

Golem can be changed to something else, but since you get only 1, it should be something big IMHO. Pixies sound good as followers, especially as healing / buffing / elemental followers.
Follower idea does not need be any more complicated than the Necro's minions, actually, it would be easier as you don't have to constantly heal them. Just make sure you have a good blend of followers, and engage!
If you have more specific concerns, though, I'd like to hear them. I think any good idea can be improved
As for your layout and Nebojat's CC listing, I'll look into it.

Awesome idea. People creativity really impress me!
Your Summoner idea seems to be much cooler then the current necromancer and ritualist.

*Bump*
Especially that in GW2, there will be many cases where you walk around alone (or with 1 companion), some summoning might be an important alternative way to have some company.

what about ritualists and necros? Anet basically (not clearly, but basically) stated that GW2 will have the same professions as GW1. Now, maybe they wont have derv, para, rit, and sin, but from what i have heard, they are.

I came up with the Summoner idea because even though Rits, Necros, and Rangers have "summons" in one form or another, these are not satisfying...
Necros have a fun army: they move, they include ubers (Flesh Golem), ranged, and melee, and you get to choose how many of which you have. Nice... The main problem is that you have to nurse them, constantly heal them instead of being more active in the fight, which is not much fun. I leave my heroes to fill in the MM role, because I don't enjoy it that much.
Ritualists' summons are nice because they fill in several functions, can be summoned at will (provided you have the energy), and don't require attention once you cast them. However, they don't move and have limited lifetime.
Ranger pets are awesome individually, because you can customize their appearance (charm pet), you can use skills that affect them, and they level up. This gives them a lot of personality lacking in other summons (except the Flesh Golem). However, you're limited to 1 per character, and you can't collect them on one character, you have to use several characters and heroes.
War Summoners do fill in a gap that is not filled in with the characters above. They have collectable minions that have improved permanency (unlike necros and rits), the ability to control several of them at a time (unlike rangers), and the ability to interact with them via skills. The minions fill in several roles, and can be summoned at will (unlike necros). Finally, you can be more active in a fight (unlike with necros).
The War Summoner is largely dependent on his summons for being effective.
